When it comes to growing flowers in your garden, first think about the purpose of planting flowers. Our purpose was to have year round flower display. Also, we wanted to decorate our home with flowers. Bringing flowers indoor will add color, fragrance, nature, beauty in your homes.
We planted fuchsia, orange yellow combination color low growing lantana along with lion’s tail tall showy flowers in our front yard garden. They are perennials low maintenance flowers. We prune lion’s tail in fall. Lantanas grow themselves. Though they don’t need pruning, we choose to maintain every year by pruning and keeping it in required shape. Plus it boosts more blooms in spring.
Roses grow very well in Los Angeles. They pretty much bloom throughout the year. Regular water and fertilizer is necessary in growing season. They need to be pruned at least once a week in growing season. in fall and winter, prune once a month or as needed.
